NAA LO Campaign: Raising Awareness Against Gutka & Chewing Tobacco
Gutka, Paan, Chaalia, and Naswar are forms of smokeless tobacco (SLT) commonly used in Pakistan, affecting nearly 70% of the population across all age groups. These substances, often consumed by placing them in the mouth or sniffing nasally, pose serious health risks, including lung cancer, heart disease, alveolar bone loss, and oral cancers. Despite their widespread use, many are unaware of the devastating health consequences associated with these products.
The NAA LO campaign aims to create awareness about the dangers of smokeless tobacco. Through education, public outreach, and targeted messaging, this initiative seeks to discourage the use of Gutka and similar substances. The campaign also advocates for implementing stricter regulations, public health policies, and community-driven efforts to address this critical health issue.
By spreading awareness and promoting healthier alternatives, the NAA LO campaign strives to reduce the prevalence of SLT consumption, safeguarding the health and well-being of individuals and communities across Pakistan.
